  • 1 cup Seasoned bread crumbs Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs work for extra flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan cheese Pecorino Romano can be used for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 jar Marinara sauce For dipping.

Preparation

  • Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks in half.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
  • In another bowl, combine the seasoned bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.

Coating

  • Dip each cheese stick into the egg mixture, ensuring it's well-coated, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
  • Place each coated stick on a parchment-lined sheet pan as you go.
  • Freeze the coated sticks for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the frozen cheese sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren't touching.
  • Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, watching for a beautiful golden color.

Notes

For best results, do not rush the freezing step. You can experiment with different cheeses and add spices for additional flavor.
