  • 1/2 cup salsa Use your favorite; fresh salsa elevates the dip.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Fresh garlic can be used as an alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin Adds depth and earthiness.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust seasoning according to your preference.
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional) Adds a pop of color and fresh crunch.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the black beans, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salsa, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
  • Transfer the mixture to a suitable baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with green onions if desired.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips.

Notes

This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge until ready to bake. It can be reheated in the oven or microwave. If you want to spice it up, feel free to add jalapeños or hot sauce!
