  • 1/4 cup Honey or maple syrup Natural sweetener options.
  • 1/2 cup Milk (dairy or non-dairy) Brings dough together.
  • 1 tablespoon Melted coconut oil Adds flavor and moisture.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk to blend the dry ingredients evenly.
  • In another bowl, mix together the applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), milk, and melted coconut oil until smooth.
  • Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir gently until a dough forms.
  • Scoop out small amounts of dough and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  • Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden.
  • Once warm, roll each bite in cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze with parchment paper between the layers. Reheat in a low oven or microwave.
