  • 2 cups of milk Whole milk adds creaminess; use dairy alternatives if needed.
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar Adjust sweetness to taste; substitutes like honey or maple syrup can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for the best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt Enhances flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  • Layer half of the cubed bread in the baking dish, followed by half of the blueberries.
  • Pour half of the egg mixture over the bread and blueberries.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining bread, blueberries, and egg mixture.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For serving, drizzle with maple syrup or dust with powdered sugar. Pairs well with bacon or fresh fruit.
